Woodland Baby Shower

December 3, 2017

Throwing a party is always exciting for me, I love decorating and planning from the smallest details to the bigger items!

My Sister In-Law and Brother are having a baby boy and of course… I jumped at the idea of throwing their baby shower.

Below I have included pictures of the decorations, and a description of how it was made or where it was purchased. Enjoy!

The Theme: Bo-Ho Woodsy

Food: Catering By Tony’s Italian Market, Cake by Mermaids Bakery

  • Originally I was going to make most of the food, but its a lot of work and can add up… so we opted to make a simple pasta salad and fruit and veggies platters… then we ordered sandwiches and wraps from Tony’s. It got rid of a HUGE headache… I recommend trying to find easy ways to cater or buy pre-maid foods… In the long run it will save you time, money and stress.
  • I ordered a woodland animal cake from Mermaids Bakery on 16th Street in Denver, CO. It was beyond perfect, the ordering process was very easy and they did exactly what I wanted. The cake was a Vanilla cake with a vanilla frosting and Nutella filling. It was delicious and most and not overwhelmingly sweet. (spoken from a person who prefers salt to sweet)

Decorations:

I recommend making what you can and also turning to ETSY.COM. Etsy has really good cheap options… I wanted balloons and found they were cheaper on Etsy than on wholesale websites. I will include the pictures and a brief description of how they were made or where I purchased them from.

  • IMG_0703 Activity: Make the baby a block!
    • Tools: Wood Blocks, Sponge Brushes, Mod Podge, Scissors, Scrap Book Paper, paper letters/numbers and stickers.
  • Decorations:
    • Pinecone/Glitter Reindeers Garland: Costplus World Market
    • “Oh Boy” Balloon Sign: Etsy: Paperboy Party
      • The balloons came with blow up sticks and a yarn string to hang them up with.

Decoration: “BABY Balloons”

  • From: Esty: ChrissyBPartyShopIMG_0697
    • The 40 in. gold mylar balloons came in a better Gold color than the ones you can buy at Party City or other wholesale balloon stores and cost about $5 less. I just got them filled at Party City for less than $10

Decoration: “Mom-Mosa Bar”

  • Ordered Glass Carafes on Amazon and we put chalk labels for each juice flavor (peach, pomegranate, orange and pineapple)
