Somehow I accumulated this great vintage mirror…however I wanted to spruce it up a bit. Living in apartments the walls are all white and I wanted this mirror to be more of a focal point and piece of artwork.
How did I do it? Easy…
Materials:
1 Mirror, News Paper, Krylon Gold Spray Paint, Painters tape, Canvas Mat (or something to lay it on while you paint), gold acrylic paint, and a paint brush.
STEP 1: Use the newspaper and painters tape to cover the mirror part. (Make sure the tape is on smoothly so you don’t get any paint on the mirror).
STEP 2: Shake spray paint, hold can at least 1-3 feet away from the mirror and spray evenly.
- Do this step in layers…I did about 4 layers…don’t try to do it in one round otherwise it will get blotchy…but if it does, step 4 has your solution.
STEP 3: Let dry
STEP 4: Use acrylic gold paint to paint a thin layer over the spray paint to smooth out any unevenness of the spray paint or any blotchy spots.
STEP 5: Let dry for 24 hours.
STEP 6: Remove tape and news paper and ENJOY!!!
